    Political ASMR #22 – Immigration & sabotage

Let’s start off with the immigration question.

    Social Impact

    1. Strain on Public Services: Critics argue that immigrants, especially undocumented ones, can put a strain on public services such as healthcare, education, and welfare systems. This can lead to overcrowded schools and hospitals, and increased public spending.
    2. Crime Rates: There is a perception that higher immigration rates might lead to increased crime, although studies often show mixed results on this issue.

    Cultural Impact

    1. Cultural Identity: Some people worry that immigration can dilute the cultural identity of the host country. They fear that immigrants may not fully integrate or adopt the host country’s customs and values, leading to cultural fragmentation.
    2. Acculturation: While many immigrants do acculturate over generations, the process can be slow, and there can be resistance from both immigrants and native populations.

    Economic Impact

    1. Job Competition: One of the most common economic criticisms is that immigrants, particularly those who are undocumented, compete with native-born workers for jobs, potentially driving down wages and increasing unemployment among low-skilled native workers.
    2. Wage Suppression: There is concern that an influx of low-skilled workers can suppress wages for certain jobs, particularly in industries like agriculture, construction, and service sectors.
    3. Public Finances: Critics argue that immigrants may contribute less in taxes than they consume in public services, leading to a net fiscal burden on the government.

    Counterarguments

It’s important to note that many studies also highlight the positive impacts of immigration:

    • Economic Growth: Immigrants can contribute to economic growth by filling labor shortages, starting businesses, and increasing demand for goods and services.
    • Innovation: Immigrants often bring diverse perspectives and skills, which can lead to greater innovation and productivity.
    • Cultural Enrichment: Immigration can enrich the cultural fabric of a society, introducing new traditions, cuisines, and ideas.
    • Personally, I don’t think counter arguments hold a lot of weight. These are insignificant factors that are being assembled together to give a feeling of catastrophe to the viewer

Sabotoging Trump before he takes office

There have been an umber of blatant steps taken by the Biden administration to dismantle create barriers for success for the incoming Trump Administration. A recent example, which I find absolutely horrid, is the sale of the steel created for the border wall:

    Trump’s response:

This is not the only example, remember the funding for Ukraine accelerated at an unnatural pace sending 10’s of Billions of dollars over in foreign aid, right at the end point of the year har.

Another example is Biden giving the OK for Ukraine to send long rage missiles into Russia. This was a clear escalation in the conflict and entailed us in the middle of it. and finally, we have the…
